Shakira has officially unveiled the lead song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The track, titled “Dai Dai”, features Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy.

The announcement was made through a vibrant joint video shared on Thursday by Shakira, Burna Boy, and FIFA. In the clip, Shakira delivers energetic choreography alongside a group of dancers at the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Brazil. The dancers are dressed in outfits that represent the colours of the nations participating in the World Cup.

“Dai Dai” carries a powerful message of resilience and strength. A catchy fusion of reggaetón and Afrobeats, the song blends Shakira’s Latin pop style with Burna Boy’s distinctive African rhythms. “You from the day you were born, here in the space you belong… what broke you once, made you strong,” Shakira sings in the track.

The full song will be officially released on May 14, 2026.

This marks Shakira’s return to World Cup music after a 12-year hiatus, following her unforgettable performance of “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The Colombian singer also contributed a reworked version of the song, “La La La (Brazil 2014)”, which was released for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Shakira’s exciting collaboration with Burna Boy is set to become one of the most anticipated soundtracks of the upcoming World Cup, bringing together two global music icons from different parts of the world.
