Police arrest ex-BBNaija winner Ilebaye’s father over alleged assault

The FCT Police Command, have revealed that they have taken action over the case of suspected domestic violence with former Big Brother Naija housemate, Ilebaye, and her father, Emmanuel Odiniya.

The incident triggered multiple calls for justice after Ilebaye was seen being brutally assaulted by her father, during an Instagram Livestream on Friday night.

SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, reacted to the concerns raised by Nigerians, revealing that the reality Tv star was taken to the hospital after they were notified. She also revealed that action was taken against the suspect of alleged assault, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya.

“At about 12:00 a.m., the FCT Police Command responded to a distress call from Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja, reporting an ongoing physical assault on Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel by her father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya. Following the report, a patrol team from Wuye Division, supported by operatives of the Department of Operations, FCT Police Command, was immediately deployed to the scene. The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer was also present to monitor the operation. Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya is currently in police custody, while a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” the police spokesperson said in a statement.
