Everything promised was not fulfilled’ — Lanre Adediwura speaks on Wura experience

Quick Read

In an interview on TVC Entertainment, he explained that while the role was important for his career, he was not well paid for it. He said he ended up spending more money than he earned and struggled financially after leaving the show.

Lanre Adediwura, a Nigerian actor, says he turned down the chance to return to the TV series Wura because it did not benefit him financially.

In an interview on TVC Entertainment, he explained that while the role was important for his career, he was not well paid for it. He said he ended up spending more money than he earned and struggled financially after leaving the show.

According to him, he could not take other acting jobs during the 11 months he worked on Wura because the production restricted him from doing other projects. This, he said, affected his career growth.

He added that after leaving the series, he had no stable income for about six months and depended on YouTube productions to survive.

He also mentioned that he worked on other projects during that period, including translating House of Gaa from English to Yoruba and being considered for a role as Alaafin Abiodun, but things did not work out.

Lanre said he does not expect any legal issues over his comments, adding that he contributed ideas and expressions to the show that are still being used.
