From next season through September 2028, SportyTV will deliver a comprehensive NBA broadcast offering across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, providing fans with consistent free-to-air access to some of the league’s biggest games and marquee events.
SportyTV has announced a three-year agreement to broadcast NBA games completely free in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa on the Sporty TV free-to-air television.
The journey begins this Thursday, with Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons. For the remainder of this season, SportyTV will broadcast eight playoff and Finals games, including NBA Finals matchups.

The package will include weekly NBA Saturday games, NBA Christmas Day matchups, the NBA All-Star Weekend programming, select Play-In Tournament games, and extensive NBA Playoffs coverage, including the NBA Finals.

Fans will be able to follow many of the league’s biggest stars, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Victor Wembanyama, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, alongside players with strong connections to Africa such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.
In addition to live games, SportyTV will air daily highlights programming, classic NBA content, and historic matchups featuring some of basketball’s most iconic names, including Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Dikembe Mutombo.
This partnership further strengthens SportyTV’s coverage of top-tier basketball, adding the NBA to its existing Euroleague offering.
