Lagos residents storm Ikeja Electric office over prolonged blackout

The residents of the Agbado area of Lagos State have stormed the office of Ikeja Electric over prolonged power outage affecting the community.

The protest, held on Wednesday, was largely made up of women who blocked the entrance of the distribution company, demanding that power be restored to their area.

The protesters claimed that the blackout had persisted for weeks and has affected households and business activities. They also lamented that the blackout has become a financial burden on residents who now rely heavily on alternative power sources.

Officials of Ikeja Electric, however, appealed to residents to remain calm, explaining that the outage was caused by technical issues. They added that they were working hard to rectify the fault and restore stable electricity supply to the affected areas.
