The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest (EOI) forms for the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship positions, originally scheduled to close at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 17th May 2026.

The new deadline is now 12:00 midnight on Sunday, 24th May 2026.

This extension was confirmed in a statement issued by the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, Esq., and is aimed at giving aspirants additional time to collect and complete the required forms.

Screening of aspirants who have purchased and completed the EOI forms is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 19th May 2026, and will run until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 26th May 2026. Following screening, the collection and submission of Nomination Forms for all cleared aspirants will begin Wednesday, 20th May 2026, and conclude on Tuesday, 26th May 2026.

The NDC emphasized that the collection of EOI forms for the Office of the President is now closed, and all aspirants are expected to appear for screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated venues across the country. Aspirants are required to submit the following documents in six copies each:

Educational certificates
Birth certificate or declaration of age
Four recent passport photographs
Copy of voter’s identification card
NDC membership card
Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Screening will be conducted based on several criteria, including the wishes of the electorate, local peculiarities, the capacity and competence of aspirants, and personal character. The party also instructed the Screening Committee to uphold its affirmative action policy in support of women, youths, and persons living with disabilities.

In addition, the NDC encouraged aspirants to pursue consensus-building, noting that only cleared candidates will be eligible to purchase Nomination Forms. The party stressed that all aspirants must strictly comply with the guidelines and timelines, as no further extension will be granted beyond the revised deadlines.
