Heart of darkness: Police hunt Monster who raped 7-year-old, fled

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified man in Bunza, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the suspect dragged the victim into an uncompleted building, assaulted her, and fled the scene.

A witness, who pleaded anonymity, said a passerby found the girl unconscious on Sunday and rushed her to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Birnin Kebbi for treatment.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the Kebbi Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the suspect is still at large.

“The victim was found by the police in an uncompleted building and was immediately taken to the General Hospital, Bunza. She was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, for further medical attention,” Usman said.

He added that the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. “Police have commenced a thorough investigation to establish the facts and ensure justice is served,” he stated.
