What started more than 15 years ago as a modest Children’s Day celebration has blossomed into one of Lagos’ biggest family entertainment spectacles, with the Inspiration 92.3FM Children’s Day Carnival now drawing thousands of children, parents, celebrities and corporate sponsors annually.

The carnival, which held its 2026 edition on Saturday at Fun Factory Amusement Park, Admiralty Way, Lekki, has grown into a major family-oriented event in Lagos, combining entertainment, education, games, music and community bonding in an atmosphere designed to celebrate children and strengthen family connections.

Speaking with journalists at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Inspiration 92.3FM, Azubike Osumili, described the carnival as one of the station’s signature programmes and a vital extension of its family-focused brand identity.

According to him, the event goes beyond conventional radio broadcasting by creating a physical platform where families can interact, bond and create lasting memories together.

Osumili explained that the station deliberately keeps ticket prices affordable to ensure that families from different backgrounds can participate in the annual celebration.

“That’s why when they say come for the special Children’s Day celebration, the tickets are very affordable-₦5,000 for children and ₦3,000 for parents. Sometimes we even give out thousands of free tickets just to bring families together,” he said.

The media executive noted that the carnival has continued to attract overwhelming support from corporate organisations, financial institutions and other sponsors, a development he said reflected the growing relevance and credibility of the event over the years.

“You can see for yourself, it’s all about fun, happy children and winning gifts. Somebody even won ₦1 million here today, courtesy of our sponsors.

“We actually have sponsors competing to be part of this programme. From corporate organisations to banks and FMCGs, everyone wants to identify with the carnival,” he added.

Beyond the entertainment and excitement, Osumili stressed that the broader objective of the carnival is to foster friendship, happiness and a stronger sense of community among families.

He said organisers intentionally focus on creating memorable experiences capable of leaving lasting impressions on children long after the event ends.

According to him, the consistent success of the carnival has been driven by a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, with each edition designed to surpass the previous one in quality, scale and overall experience.

Osumili added that the organisers remain committed to sustaining the growth of the carnival and expanding its impact as one of Lagos’ leading family entertainment events.
