“Over the last few years, President Tinubu has taken important decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth,” he said.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said President Bola Tinubu’s victory at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary shows that party members still have confidence in his leadership.

Sanwo-Olu stated this while congratulating Tinubu on his emergence as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The governor, in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described Tinubu’s victory as well deserved.

He said the outcome of the primary reflected the trust APC members across the country continued to place in the President.

“I congratulate our leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 election,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“This victory reflects the confidence and trust that party members across the country continue to place in his leadership and his commitment to building a better Nigeria.”

Sanwo-Olu also commended APC members, the National Working Committee, NWC, and state executives for conducting what he described as a peaceful and well-organised primary.

According to him, the party’s adoption of direct primaries showed its commitment to internal democracy.

He said the process gave members a stronger voice in choosing the party’s presidential candidate.

“The adoption of direct primaries also demonstrates our party’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy by giving members a stronger voice in the selection process,” he said.

The Lagos governor also defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the President had taken bold decisions to stabilise the economy and lay the foundation for long-term growth.

Sanwo-Olu said leadership required courage, especially at critical moments when difficult decisions must be taken in the interest of the country.

“Over the last few years, President Tinubu has taken important decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth,” he said.

“At critical moments, leadership requires courage and the willingness to take decisions that will move the country forward.”

He expressed optimism that Nigerians would continue to support Tinubu’s vision for progress and national development.

“The journey continues, and together, we will keep working towards a nation that gives every citizen a fair opportunity to succeed,” Sanwo-Olu added.
