Second term assured- DSP Barau hails Tinubu on presidential primary victory

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau has said outcome of the presidential primary of All Progressives Congress, APC was an indication that President Bola Tinubu and the party will record a landslide victory in the 2027 presidential election.

According to the results of the presidential primary announced on Sunday, Tinubu polled 10,999,162 votes to defeat Stanley Osifo, his lone challenger who garnered 16,503 votes in the election.

Consequently, Tinubu was declared the flagbearer of APC for the 2027 presidential election.

While congratulating the President for his overwhelming victory in the election, Barau, in a statement published on his social media handles on Monday said the outcome of the primary is a strong indication of what lies ahead in the January 16, 2027, Presidential Election.

The Deputy Senate President said the primary was conducted peacefully, transparently and successfully in wards, local governments, and states across the country.

Barau, who participated in the primary election in Kano said, “I congratulate the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his emergence as the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the largest political party in Africa.

“From Kabo Ward in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, where I led the exercise, to other wards, local governments, and states across the federation, the presidential primary election was conducted peacefully, transparently, and successfully.

“At the end of the nationwide exercise, the results announced at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, the venue for the national collation and declaration, President Tinubu secured 10,999,162 votes to defeat Stanley Osifo, his lone challenger who polled 16,503 votes.

“This overwhelming mandate is a clear affirmation of the trust and confidence reposed in Mr President by members of our great party across the 774 local government areas of our country.

“The outcome of this presidential primary election is a strong indication of what lies ahead in the January 16, 2027, Presidential Election: a landslide victory for President Tinubu and the APC.

“Congratulations, Mr President, on this resounding victory. Sir, Insha Allah, your second term is assured.”
