Enyeh Julius Akpovire, Publisher and Managing Director of The Witness Newspaper, will be honoured with the African Media Personality Award at the 15th edition of The Voice Achievers Award and Business Summit 2026, scheduled to hold in London on August 21, 2026.

Enyeh Julius Akpovire, Publisher and Managing Director of The Witness Newspaper, will be honoured with the African Media Personality Award at the 15th edition of The Voice Achievers Award and Business Summit 2026, scheduled to hold in London on August 21, 2026.

The event, organised by The Voice News Magazine, will take place at the Hilton London Kensington and is expected to attract African entrepreneurs, diplomats, policymakers, and professionals from across the globe.

According to the organisers, the 2026 edition will focus on the theme: “Putting Africa In The Right Perspective – Focusing On Mental Empowerment For Economic Inclusion & Growth.”

Akpovire is also expected to serve as a panellist during a dialogue session titled: “Mental Empowerment for Economic Inclusion & Growth – The Role of the African Media.”

The organisers said his recognition highlights his contributions to journalism, investigative reporting, media development, and public discourse through The Witness Newspaper.

In a statement, the organisation described Akpovire as “a pioneer whose work continues to put Africa in the right perspective while fostering the mental empowerment necessary for the continent’s economic inclusion and growth.”

The statement also commended his resilience and commitment to journalism despite the professional and personal challenges he has encountered in the course of his work.

Beyond journalism, the organisation acknowledged the humanitarian activities of The Witness Cares Foundation, launched in 2021 as the corporate social responsibility arm of the newspaper.

According to the organisers, the foundation has supported widows and vulnerable children through educational and healthcare interventions.

The award body also recognised Akpovire’s role through Dial Icon Communications Limited, a public relations and strategic communications firm involved in media relations, crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy campaigns for individuals, corporate organisations, and government agencies.

President of the organisation, Elvis Ndubuisi Iruh, said the summit was designed to strengthen mental and economic empowerment across Africa while fostering stronger connections between African professionals on the continent and in the diaspora.

The event will feature a business dialogue summit, award gala night, fashion showcases, and networking sessions aimed at promoting strategic collaboration among African leaders and professionals globally.

Originally launched in the Netherlands in 2012, The Voice Achievers Award has evolved into a global platform celebrating Africans and friends of Africa making notable contributions in leadership, business, diplomacy, humanitarian service, media, and innovation.

Previous recipients include Fatou Bensouda, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Mama Ida Odinga.

The award has also recognised African First Ladies, including Jeannette Kagame, Fatoumata Bah Barrow, and Fatima Maada Bio.

This year’s edition will honour 28 personalities from Africa and the diaspora for achievements in leadership, innovation, diplomacy, media, healthcare, business, public service, and humanitarian work.
