In a rude welcome to the new month of June, an early morning attack by gunmen has left one person dead, and no less than 30 others abducted in Aiyegunle Bunu, an agrarian transit community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, LGA, Kogi State.
The assault which happened on Monday, 1 June at about 2:30 a.m., threw the community into mourning and fear. Two residents of the community, a man described as a pastor and a woman, were among those abducted in the attack that also left many people injured.
The remaining victims were reportedly travelling in a commercial bus that was intercepted by the riotous hoodlums.
The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the attack and the commencement of investigation.
