Nigerian singer Peter Okoye has spoken up amid the growing insecurity in the country, urging more public figures to speak up about national issues.
The artist, on his X handle, stated that he is no longer afraid of criticism or online attacks. He also noted that although he is prepared for the possibility of a backlash after sharing his opinion, he will not back down.
“The way I’m about to start speaking out on insecurity and bad governance in Nigeria, all these N3k sponsored attackers better get ready,” he wrote.
Peter also stressed that he has reached a point where he is willing to express his views without fear of consequences, adding that attempts to silence or discourage him would not work, insisting that
”If una wan cancel me, make una line up well. Cos me too I don fall out,” he added.
