Khamenei argued that unity among Iranians was the main barrier against external interference, adding that “division is the last tool” of Iran’s enemies when other approaches fail.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has accused the United States and Israel of attempting to destabilise the country by fuelling internal divisions following what he described as their failure in recent hostilities.

In a statement released through state-linked channels, Khamenei said Iran’s adversaries were unable to achieve their objectives through military means and were now shifting tactics towards psychological pressure and internal disruption. He urged Iranians to remain united and warned against what he called efforts to weaken national cohesion.

The remarks come in the aftermath of heightened regional tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States, during which both sides exchanged strikes and accusations of escalation. Iranian officials have since framed the outcome as a strategic setback for their opponents, while Western and Israeli officials have maintained that their actions were defensive and targeted at security threats.

Khamenei argued that unity among Iranians was the main barrier against external interference, adding that “division is the last tool” of Iran’s enemies when other approaches fail. He also called on political factions within Iran to avoid internal disputes that could, in his view, serve foreign interests.
