The gubernatorial ambition of Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Gombe state, has received a significant boost following the defection of the state Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr.Ahmed Gana, his party.
Dr. Gana, a respected technocrat and former Commissioner, formally resigned from his position and membership of the ADC, citing his conviction that Dr. Gwamna, “remains the most qualified candidate to lead Gombe State at this critical time.”
This was contained in a Statement by Ibrahim Sani Shawai, Media Aide to Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna made available on Friday.
Gana said his decision was driven by Dr. Gwamna’s proven competence, deep understanding of governance, compassion for the people, and clear vision for sustainable development across all sectors of the state.
“Dr. Jamil Gwamna has all it takes to lead Gombe State and put on from where the current administration of Governor Inuwa Yahay has stopped. He is the right man for the job, that is why I decided to join the APC and work hard towards the actualization of his goal,” he added.
He emphasized that the need to prioritize the collective interest of the people of Gombe State over partisan considerations informed his move to join the APC and actively support Dr. Gwamna’s gubernatorial ambition.
Reacting to the development, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna warmly welcomed Dr. Gana into the APC family, describing his defection as a testament to the growing confidence in the movement to reposition Gombe State for progress and prosperity.
Dr. Gwamna commended Dr. Gana for his courage and foresight, noting that his wealth of experience in public service would add immense value to the campaign and the broader vision of inclusive governance.
He assured that the APC remains open to all well-meaning individuals committed to building a better future for Gombe State, urging others to join the movement for a positive change.
