The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has officially presented its candidates for the 2027 general elections. The party unveiled candidates who will contest for governor, Senate, House of Representatives, and Lagos State House of Assembly seats.

The party also reaffirmed its support for Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

At the event held in Lagos, 27 candidates received Certificates of Return, confirming them as the party’s official candidates for various positions across the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lagos State Accord Party Chairman, Dele Oladeji, described the unveiling as an important step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections. He said it also marked the beginning of the party’s campaign activities.

Oladeji, who is contesting for the Lagos West Senatorial seat, said the Accord Party is offering Lagos residents a credible alternative and a different political direction.

He stated that the party is committed to promoting social justice, public welfare, security, and inclusive governance. According to him, many Lagos residents are looking for political change.

Several candidates also presented their plans, focusing on infrastructure development, job creation, transparent governance, and greater participation of women in leadership.

The Accord Party candidate for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Solomon Oladimeji Wahab, encouraged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process. He also called for free, fair, and transparent elections.

The party’s candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency, Joseph Taiwo Jehoshaphat, promised to promote youth empowerment and attract development projects to the constituency if elected.

Similarly, Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Blessing Maduka-Sunday, advocated increased representation of women in elective positions and stronger policies to support women’s empowerment and economic growth.

Party leaders said the unveiling marks the start of an intensified mobilization campaign ahead of the 2027 elections. They expressed confidence that the party would make a strong impact in Lagos State.

Supporters at the event also reaffirmed their backing for Olawepo-Hashim, describing him as a leader capable of promoting national unity, economic growth, and meaningful reforms.
