The United States has carried out another round of military strikes on targets in Iran for the second night in a row, following an order from President Donald Trump.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that the latest operation hit several locations in Iran. It said the action was taken in response to what it called continued aggression from Iran.
CENTCOM stated: “U.S. forces began additional self-defense strikes at about 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time on multiple targets in Iran under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief.”
Earlier, U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said more military action was expected during the night. He said President Trump had ordered strong action against Iran and warned that operations would continue.
He also said the strikes were part of pressure on Iran to reach an agreement with the United States.
