The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, describing his passing as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the security architecture of Lagos State.
DCP Salihu, who until his death served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Police Command, passed away on Monday.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the police described the late officer as a dedicated, disciplined and highly professional administrator whose contributions strengthened the operational efficiency of the Command.
The Command noted that DCP Salihu distinguished himself throughout his career through exemplary leadership, integrity and an unwavering commitment to public service.
According to the statement, the late senior officer played a pivotal role in enhancing administrative coordination and financial management within the Lagos State Police Command, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and subordinates alike.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, expressed profound sorrow over the development and extended condolences to the deceased officer’s family, friends and associates.
The police chief described Salihu’s death as a painful and shocking loss, noting that his dedication to duty and wealth of experience would be greatly missed.
“The Command mourns the loss of a highly dedicated, disciplined and committed senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty and integrity,” the statement said.
The Command further noted that the late officer would be remembered for his humility, selfless service and commitment to nation-building.
It prayed for the repose of his soul and for strength for his family to bear the loss.
