Osborn Nweze Umahi, a rising political figure in Ebonyi State, has officially thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signaling a major alignment of the state’s youth and political structures ahead of future polls.

Speaking on behalf of his constituents, the 28-year-old politician announced that Ebonyi State stands firmly behind the current administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

“Myself and the people of Ebonyi State, led by Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, gathered in solidarity at PA. Ngele Oruta Township Stadium to declare unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Umahi stated. “Ebonyi chooses unity, progress, and prosperity. We are for Renewed Hope and fully in support of the Ebonyi For PBAT movement.”

The declaration comes at a pivotal moment for the young civil engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Having recently emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ohaozara Local Government chairmanship, the younger Umahi is rapidly carving out his own political identity.

He is the son of the former Governor of Ebonyi State and current Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi.

However, observers note that the 28-year-old is actively stepping out from his father’s formidable shadow to champion a new wave of corporate-minded leadership in public service.

“My entry into politics wasn’t just a personal choice; it was an answer to a collective call from a community that wants to see modern, proactive governance,” Osborn Umahi explained.

For many, Umahi’s transition from high-stakes corporate boardrooms to grassroots mobilization has been remarkably swift. As the Chairman of Tyneside Oil & Gas, he spent his early twenties managing portfolios across the energy, infrastructure, and hospitality sectors.

It is this exact private-sector blueprint that political insiders believe could revolutionize local administration.

While critics occasionally point to his privileged background, supporters argue that his track record speaks for itself. Long before securing the APC ticket, Umahi’s charitable foundations were actively funding educational initiatives and providing micro-grants to vulnerable groups across Ebonyi State.

Though public service runs deep in the Umahi bloodline, associates insist his current political run is driven by genuine merit and community demand rather than political entitlement.
