Also commenting, CANAL+ Director of Sport Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa, Rendani Ramovha, said the channel complements existing SuperSport programming by offering subscribers a wider range of sporting events and supporting content.

SportyTV has expanded its footprint across Africa following its addition to selected DStv and GOtv packages in Nigeria, providing subscribers with broader access to live sports and related programming.

The 24-hour sports channel, now available to DStv Yanga and GOtv Jolli customers, offers a mix of live sporting events, news, analysis, highlights and feature content. Beyond Nigeria, the channel is also accessible to GOtv subscribers in Kenya and Ghana.

The move strengthens the sports entertainment portfolio of DStv and GOtv by introducing additional football, basketball and combat sports coverage to viewers across the continent.

Speaking on the development, CANAL+ Africa Chief Executive Officer, David Mignot, described SportyTV as a significant addition to the platforms’ entry-level sports offerings.

“SportyTV is a valuable addition to the DStv Access and GOtv Value content offering across Africa. It expands the range of sporting events available to customers at an accessible price point and reflects our commitment to making quality sports content available to audiences across the continent,” he said.

Sporty Group Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Sudeep Ramnani, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of making premium sports content more accessible to African audiences.

“Our ambition has always been to provide African audiences with broad access to sports content and storytelling. Through this partnership with CANAL+, we are extending that offering to more households across the continent,” Ramnani stated.

Also commenting, CANAL+ Director of Sport Content for English and Portuguese-speaking Africa, Rendani Ramovha, said the channel complements existing SuperSport programming by offering subscribers a wider range of sporting events and supporting content.

SportyTV’s football portfolio includes coverage of major competitions such as the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the EFL Championship, Carabao Cup, Women’s FA Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. The channel also broadcasts South American tournaments including the Copa Libertadores, Argentina League and Brazil Serie A.

In addition, viewers can access dedicated club channels such as Real Madrid TV, Arsenal TV, Chelsea TV and Manchester City TV, alongside coverage of leagues in Greece and Saudi Arabia. Basketball fans will also enjoy selected NBA programming and other international sporting events.

Sporty Group’s Vice President of Business Development, Marketing and Media, Elias Gallego, said the launch on DStv and GOtv would significantly increase the channel’s reach across Africa.

“Launching SportyTV on DStv and GOtv allows us to extend our reach and bring a broader range of sports content to viewers across Africa,” he said.

SportyTV officially launched on June 10, 2026, and is available in high definition on DStv channel 236 and GOtv channel 58 in Nigeria.
