Three women suspected of collaborating with terrorists in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State have been arrested by troops.
The women identified as Aisha Mustapha, 19, Astakawu Bura, 23, and Zarah Bukar, 50 allegedly maintained contacts with terrorist elements.
They were also said to be involved in arrangements connected to movements into insurgent-controlled areas in Borno
They were arrested by troops of the 222 Battalion of Operation Hadin Kai.
According to operational report of the troops, the arrest of the women followed intelligence and lawful communication intercepts indicating attempts to facilitate movement to a terrorist enclave.
“They have been taken into military custody and are assisting investigators.
“The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle terrorist support networks and prevent infiltration within displaced persons camps and host communities,” it said. (NAN)
