The candidate People Democratic Party (PDP) for 2027 Ogun governorship election, Oladipupo Adebutu, has declared that years of political experience and personal growth have transformed his outlook on leadership, saying he no longer allows anger to influence his decisions.

Speaking during a media parley held on Monday, June 22, 2026, Adebutu said he has become more patient and focused on the bigger task of delivering good governance, while outlining a seven-point agenda he intends to pursue if elected governor of Ogun State.

The PDP governorship candidate explained that his administration would prioritize seven key sectors to improve the welfare of residents if he is elected.

He said security would be the major focus in his govt because where there is good security the people will be easy to govern with peace of mind.

Adebutu said there are lots of economic opportunities that can be used to accelerate development across the state which the incumbent should know or focus on.

He said if such economic opportunities are being utilized, the children and youths of Ogun State will go astray.

Adebutu identified agriculture as one of his focus areas” “As a farmer, I know what it takes to rear a goat. A goat can give you riches in two and half a year. Through agriculture there will be lots of self-jobs, our youth will be engaged in farming, and they will be self-employed and be happy they did

He also claimed that while the incumbent administration claimed to have constructed road, many of the roads have been repeatedly reconstructed in the past seven years.

Adebutu added that his administration will also focus women and sports, education for development of the state if election.

Also speaking at the event, Adebutu’s running mate, a renowned journalist and publisher advised journalist not to allow themselves to be intimidated by any politician.

He said journalists should be independent and not to belong to any party or align with any politician in order to do their job diligently.

Also speaking at the media parley, Ogun PDP Chairman, Abayomi Tella declared the party readiness to take over power in the state in 2027 without any hinderance.
