Morocco equal Nigeria, Ghana’s World Cup achievements

Morocco have become only the third African country to reach the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup in two consecutive tournaments.

The Atlas Lions achieved the milestone after progressing from the group stage for the second World Cup in a row. This places them alongside Nigeria and Ghana in African football history.

Nigeria were the first African team to achieve the feat, reaching the knockout rounds at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups. Ghana later matched the record by advancing beyond the group stage at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.

Morocco’s latest success highlights the country’s growing strength in international football. The North African nation has continued to impress on the world stage and is now regarded as one of Africa’s most successful teams in World Cup history.
