Quick Read

However, Roiea believes that while the industry presents numerous challenges, joining a cult, gang, or unlawful group is neither necessary nor advisable for anyone seeking a successful and sustainable music career.

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Roiea has reacted to recent comments made by Nigerian rapper CDQ regarding the challenges of attaining success in the country’s music industry.

The reaction followed a viral post shared by CDQ, in which he suggested that aspiring entertainers must belong to a particular cult, gang, or group before they can achieve fame and recognition in Nigeria.

Speaking on the issue, Roiea cautioned against such beliefs, stressing that success in the entertainment industry is attainable through talent, hard work, consistency, and dedication.

According to the singer, young artists should not be misled into thinking that gang or cult affiliation is a prerequisite for making it in the music business.

Roiea further noted that Nigeria has produced several legendary musicians who built remarkable careers and earned global recognition without associating themselves with cult groups or criminal gangs.

He maintained that these icons remained relevant throughout their careers because of their creativity, discipline, and commitment to their craft.

The Afrobeats star emphasized that promoting positive values within the entertainment industry is crucial, especially at a time when many young people look up to musicians and celebrities as role models.

He urged upcoming artists to focus on developing their talents and building strong professional networks rather than seeking shortcuts to fame.

CDQ, whose real name is Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, had earlier spoken about the difficulties associated with becoming successful in the Nigerian music industry.

However, Roiea believes that while the industry presents numerous challenges, joining a cult, gang, or unlawful group is neither necessary nor advisable for anyone seeking a successful and sustainable music career.
