Pecantrust Microfinance Bank (MFB) will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a grand gala on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, as the financial institution reflects on a decade of promoting financial inclusion and empowering businesses and individuals across Nigeria.
The event is expected to bring together captains of industry, government officials, business leaders, partners, customers and other stakeholders to commemorate the bank’s 10-year journey of bridging financial gaps and building trust.
Speaking ahead of the celebration, the bank’s Senior Manager and Spokesperson, Mr. Kunle Karounwi, said Pecantrust MFB was established to provide prompt and flexible financial solutions to individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and growing businesses that had limited access to finance.
“When we started, the core mandate was clear. Too many individuals, SMEs and growing businesses struggled to access prompt, flexible financial solutions. We set out to bridge that gap,” Karounwi said.
According to him, that vision has remained the driving force behind the bank’s growth and its long-term ambition of becoming Africa’s leading poverty alleviation-focused financial institution.
He said the bank has, over the past decade, evolved into a resilient institution committed to empowering businesses, supporting economic development and creating lasting value.
“Celebrating 10 years isn’t just about longevity. It represents a decade of delivering impact and earning the trust of thousands,” he added.
Karounwi described the bank’s journey as one defined by resilience, innovation and steady growth, noting that economic headwinds and regulatory changes had strengthened the institution’s commitment to sustainability and excellent service delivery.

He attributed the bank’s expansion to innovative products tailored to the needs of Nigerians, including PecanPlus Micro Health Insurance, financial literacy programmes and customised SME loan packages.
Karounwi also highlighted the growth of the bank’s workforce, saying it has expanded from a small team into an organisation of over 30 highly skilled professionals committed to delivering quality customer service.
On the bank’s financial strength, he said prudent financial management, shareholder support, retained earnings and strategic reinvestment have significantly improved its capital base, enabling it to support larger transactions while meeting regulatory requirements.
He added that all arrangements have been concluded for the anniversary gala, which will celebrate the bank’s achievements over the last decade while reaffirming its commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions and driving inclusive economic growth in Nigeria.
