Residents across Lagos State have appealed to Nigerians in all six geopolitical zones to set aside tribal, ethnic, and religious differences and support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. They argued that a renewed mandate would allow him to consolidate on the achievements recorded since assuming office in 2023.

Speaking with PM NEWS in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Mainland, Badagry, Abule Egba, and Ikorodu, residents praised Tinubu’s policies, describing him as the most effective leader Nigeria has produced since the return to democracy in 1999. They highlighted his bold economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, which they said freed resources for increased workers’ salaries and boosted monthly allocations to states and local governments.

While acknowledging that the dividends of democracy have not yet reached all Nigerians, the residents cautioned against being swayed by politicians who, despite holding office since 1999, failed to lay solid foundations for national progress.

The residents insisted that Tinubu’s reforms are positioning Nigeria toward financial self-reliance and reduced dependence on foreign loans.

Mr. Tunde Adebayo, a resident of Ibeju-Lekki, noted: “Nigerians expect miracles, but no leader can solve decades of problems in just four years. With the foundations President Tinubu has laid, a second term will give him the chance to address critical challenges more effectively.”

Similarly, Mr. Solomon Odijie of Ikorodu, Lagos urged Nigerians to rise above tribal sentiments: “Tinubu has achieved more in three and a half years than past leaders did when oil sold for $100–$120 per barrel. We must not allow politicians with no vision to deceive us again.”

The residents concluded that Tinubu’s second term is essential to sustain ongoing projects, strengthen Nigeria’s economy, and deliver lasting development across all regions.
