Nigerian Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has alleged that his life may be under threat, claiming that the government is deliberately frustrating him and attacking him personally.
Obi made the allegation during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where he said the pressure against him had become intense and could endanger his life.
“The way they are going now, I might not be alive,” Obi said.
He alleged that the government was frustrating everything he does for a living and making life difficult for him.
“I’m telling you, every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it deliberately,” he said.
According to him, the alleged attacks are not always direct, but he claimed the government’s hand could be seen in several actions taken against him.
“Everything, so there’s even a possibility if they have opportunity I will not be alive. I get frustrations every day because you do things that you may think may be normal, it is not normal,” he said.
“They won’t come directly and say, ‘Oh, we are doing this,’ but you could see their hand eventually in everything.”
Obi also accused the government of attacking him personally and denying him things he said he is entitled to.
“The government is attacking everybody. I am being attacked personally, even to provide me with things I am entitled to, not at all,” he said.
The former Anambra State governor did not give specific details of the alleged threats in the quoted remarks.
