Nigerian music promoter Samson Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, has made his first public appearance after surviving a fatal auto crash, days after rumours circulated online claiming he had died.
A video circulating on social media on Saturday showed Sam Larry with associates, appearing alert and in stable condition as he celebrated with those around him.
The appearance has sparked reactions from fans and social media users who had expressed concern following unverified reports of his alleged death.
The video is expected to put to rest widespread speculation about his condition after the accident.
Sam Larry’s associate, Akin Abolade, popularly known as Mr Lilgaga, had earlier dismissed the death rumours, confirming that the promoter survived the crash.
“Yes, he’s alive and not dead, but his condition cannot be ascertained because of how bad the accident was,” Lilgaga had said.
The auto crash reportedly triggered a wave of speculation online, with several social media users sharing claims about his condition before any official confirmation emerged.
Sam Larry has remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about entertainment figures, particularly following the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, in September 2023.
He faced public scrutiny after videos showing confrontations involving the late singer surfaced online, leading to calls for investigation.
The promoter was later questioned by police during inquiries into Mohbad’s death, although he has consistently denied any involvement in the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
