One fight with me will revive Terry G’s career — Portable

Nigerian street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has challenged Terry G to a boxing match, claiming one fight with him would return the musician to the spotlight.

Portable named Terry G as his preferred opponent during an appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds on Sunday, dismissing suggestions that he wanted to fight social media personality VeryDarkMan.

“Terry G. I want to fight Terry G,” he declared.

“If Terry G fights me one-on-one in boxing, I swear to God he will rise again. People will remember him again.”

Asked whether the proposed fight was intended to help Terry G’s career, Portable replied: “Yeah! I just train. I want to blow him.”

The Zazuu crooner said the fight would come after his July 31 rematch with actor Charles Okocha, whom he confidently predicted he would defeat.

“After I fight and beat Charles Okocha, I’m going to London. If I come back from London, I want to fight Terry G,” he said.

Portable also listed the United States, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai and South Africa among the destinations for his 2026 music tour.

The controversial singer declared himself the face of Nigerian boxing, claiming he had used his music career and popularity to elevate celebrity boxing in the country.

“I don try for Nigeria. I use my own music career, I use am build boxing, Nigeria boxing. I use am rise am,” he said.

“Which boxer fit come out say he collect money pass me for this Nigeria? You dey collect reach ₦100 million. How many belts do you have? How many rounds did you fight? How much did you collect?”

Portable claimed he had already received ₦50 million for the Okocha rematch, with the total fight purse placed at ₦150 million.

“I don collect ₦50 million. We are fighting for ₦150 million,” he said.

Rejecting any suggestion that Okocha could defeat him, Portable declared: “Don’t worry, not if I win. I’m winning this match. I’m the face of boxing in Nigeria 2026.”

The rematch was activated after Okocha invoked a clause following Portable’s unanimous-decision victory in their first encounter.

Both men have since traded threats, with Okocha training alongside WBO Intercontinental heavyweight champion Moses Itauma, while Portable is preparing with WBA Africa lightweight champion Taiwo “Esehpo” Agbaje.

Portable has also knocked out singer Speed Darlington and defeated Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard, Kelvin Atobiloye, popularly known as Kelvin Power, in an exhibition bout.
