Wizkid Continues International Expansion with High-Profile US Set

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, made headlines with African music following his performance at the 2026 TribeVille Festival Deluxe held on July 24, at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

The annual festival, which celebrates black music, culture and artistic expression, featured an international lineup including Ghanaian duo R2Bees, Jamaican singer Kranium, Voice, CIC and Nigerian disc jockey DJ Tunez.

Wizkid thrilled thousands of fans with performances of some of his hit songs, drawing loud cheers and sing-alongs from the audience throughout the event.

The performance formed part of the singer’s continued international engagements, as Afrobeats gains wider recognition through appearances by Nigerian artistes at major festivals and concerts across Europe, North America and other parts of the world.

Videos from the concert, which circulated on social media after the event, generated excitement among fans, many of whom praised the singer’s stage presence and his contribution to promoting African music globally.

Entertainment analysts say Nigerian artistes continue to play a significant role in expanding the global influence of Afrobeats, with performances at major international festivals helping to promote the country’s creative industry and cultural heritage.

They note that the increasing demand for Nigerian musicians on global stages reflects the growing commercial appeal of Afrobeats and creates more opportunities for cultural exchange, tourism and international collaborations.
