Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has stirred controversy after making a strong claim about the Nigerian languages.

The singer, who boasted of his kids fluency in French language, claimed that the Nigerian languages have lesser advantages to the speakers than foreign languages.

He explained in a post via his X handle that watching his children speak French fluently makes him consider purchasing a property in the city.

“Still in Paris! Watching my kids speak French so effortlessly makes me think… maybe it’s time to own a crib here in Paris,” he wrote.

His post then stirred mixed reactions with some questioning his children’s fluency in their native language.

“Hope they can speak Igbo, too?,” a fan inquired.

“And who naija language help? Make I hear word abeg,” Mr P responded.
