Russian Hopes To Fight Samuel Peter

Russian heavyweight prospect Vyacheslav Glazkov (9-0, 6KOs) is pushing to get in the ring with former world champion Samuel Peter (34-5, 27KOs).

An offer as been made to the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’, but no agreement has been finalised at the moment. If an agreement is reached, the boxers will face each other on the James Toney-Denis Lebeved card on 4 November in Moscow, Russia.

“I am ready and I want this fight. Samuel Peters is very experienced. He is a former world champion and he has boxed with the best. Yes, Peter lost his last two fights, but they were fights against strong opponents-Wladimir Klitschko and Robert Helenius.

“Fighting with him will be very interesting and useful in terms of experience. I will have to prepare special tactics in training, and I will need to work more on my feet. I really want this fight to take place,” said Glazkov.

Peter has won a portion of the heavyweight crown and scored notable wins over James Toney and Oleg Maskaev.

The Akwa Ibom State-born boxer is the only man to have been defeated by both Klitschko brothers, losing a total of three bouts against them.
