The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has wielded the hammer, expelling Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious after her shocking physical assault on a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Dr. Chukwudi Okoye.
The incident, which erupted into a viral sensation, saw Precious attacking Dr. Okoye in a heated confrontation after he allegedly interrupted her TikTok recording on campus.
The altercation, caught on camera, sparked outrage and demands for swift disciplinary action.
In a decisive move, the university, through an official expulsion letter dated February 13, 2025, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, declared her actions as “gross misconduct” and a violation of Student Disciplinary Regulations.
“The Ag. Vice-Chancellor has received the report from the Student Disciplinary Committee on your assault on a lecturer… which was found to be a gross misconduct and violation of the Students Disciplinary Regulations,” the letter read.
“Consequently, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor has, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the Committee’s recommendation that you be expelled… The expulsion takes immediate effect,” the letter added.
With the verdict sealed, Goddy-Mbakwe has been ordered to vacate the university premises immediately and return any school property in her possession.
