8 Passengers Cheat Death

Eight passengers including the driver of a commuter bus, popularly called danfo, narrowly escaped being crushed to death recently when the kombi was hit by a 911 bus popularly called molue by Lagosians.

The incident occurred close to the pedestrian bridge along the Lagos-Abeokuta Express way in Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

When P.M.NEWS visited the scene of the incident, the passengers were seen groaning in pain while security operatives were trying frantically to contact officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service, LASAMBUS.

It was learnt that the driver of the danfo with the registration number KT592LSD parked indiscriminately along the road while trying to load passengers.

According to eye witnesses, when told to park properly, he refused and stubbornly remained on the spot, claiming that he was a mobile police.

It was further learnt that the molue driver who was coming from Oshodi, rammed into the danfo from behind while attempting to avoid hitting a woman who was crossing the highway.

None of the passengers spoke with P.M.NEWS as they were all groaning in pain, awaiting medical assistance.

However officials of Nigeria Police were on hand to control traffic situation in the area.
