President Bola Tinubu on Friday extended his best wishes to Nigerian Muslims and the global Islamic community as they commence the 2025 Ramadan fasting season.

He urged citizens to embrace the spiritual and communal values of the holy month.

In a statement issued on Friday, Tinubu described Ramadan as a period of deep reflection, self-discipline, and renewed devotion to Almighty Allah.

He encouraged fasting Muslims to embody the principles of humility, piety, and generosity while fostering unity and peace in their communities.

“Ramadan is a season of spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate. Let us use this period to strengthen our bonds with Allah and one another,” Tinubu stated.

The president also used the occasion to highlight his administration’s economic strides, noting that bold policy interventions were beginning to yield results.

He pointed to the improved Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the last quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, as well as the recent stabilisation of the naira and a decline in fuel and food prices, which he described as much-needed relief for Nigerians.

“As the wet season approaches, our administration remains committed to boosting agricultural productivity through mechanisation, targeted input support, and innovative farming initiatives,” Tinubu added.

“We are determined to ensure food security and self-sufficiency for all Nigerians.”

Reaffirming his vision for a united and prosperous Nigeria, the president called on all citizens to pray for the nation’s continued growth and to reflect values of peace and progress in their actions.

“May this sacred month bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all who observe it,” he concluded, wishing Muslims a blessed Ramadan.
