Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed, the Chairman of Kiru Local Government Area, has been arrested for allegedly selling land worth over N100 million originally meant for the construction of Kafin Maiyaki mini Stadium.

Mohammed was arrested by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Mr. Kabir Kabir, confirmed the arrest of the suspect on Friday Kano.

He said that the commission discovered that the amount was paid into Mohammed’s personal account.

Kabir said that according to investigation, a company called Mahasum purchased the plots of land allocated for the mini Stadium.

According to Kabir, Mohammed’s account received N240 million from Nov. 1, 2024, when he was sworn in, to Feb. 27, which has since been recovered.

He said that Mohammed is cooperating with the investigation, which aims to uncover the truth behind the fraudulent sale of land and bring those responsible to justice.

“The commission is working to root out corruption and ensure accountability, with the suspect currently in custody and the investigation ongoing, “he said.( NAN)
