Arowolo, Suspected Wife Killer On Trial

Akolade Arowolo, 30, who is allegedly stabbed his banker wife, Titilayo, to death on 21 June, this year, at their residence 8, Akinseinde Street, Isolo, Lagos, during a quarrel between them was expected to be brought to court today in continuation of his trial.

At press time this afternoon, he was yet to be brought from Ikoyi Prison where he is remanded to the Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court where he is on a holden charge of murder.

The couple got married in September 2009 and the marriage produced a baby girl before the tragic incident.

Akolade was alleged to have attempted to run away after he committed the offence but was arrested by policemen who saw him wearing a blood-soaked shirt while driving a Honda Accord car, 2006 Model, which equally had blood stain.

He was later accosted by the policemen and when he could not give satisfactory account of how he was stained with the blood but deceived the police and escaped on a bike.

He was however, arrested a few days later by the police at Aswani Police station while still driving the blood stained car and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation before he was taken to court for prosecution.
