A funeral mass meant to honour the dead turned into a scene of horror when a man, Gideon Gabriel Eyoh Nwosu, was brutally stabbed to death in Ikot Etim Bott Community, Akpabuyo, Cross River State.
The tragic incident occurred at 9:10 AM during a farewell mass for the late Chief Maurice Ibok.

A swift distress call prompted the intervention of the Sting Unit Robot police operatives, who arrived to evacuate the victim’s body, now preserved at the State Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched a manhunt for Effiong, intensifying efforts to bring the fugitive to justice.
The shocking nature of the murder has left residents on edge, as the community grapples with the unsettling violence that marred what was meant to be a solemn farewell.
