Odumeje further promised infrastructural transformation, vowing to build a major highway called “Citadel” and bring “modern and digital life” to Nigerians.

Anambra-based cleric and General Overseer of The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has announced his intention to contest for Nigeria’s presidency in the 2027 general election.

In a now-viral video from his Sunday sermon, the self-styled “Indaboski Bahose” declared his readiness to lead the country, citing the failures of both past and present leaders as motivation for his political ambition.

“Both past and present leaders have failed to move Nigeria forward due to their age and lack of vision. The country needs a vibrant, resilient, and forward-thinking leader like me to usher in real progress,” he stated.

The cleric, known for his controversial style of preaching, emphasised the need for a youthful and digitally-inclined leader, dismissing the current political class as “old cargoes.”

“We need a young leader in this country, and I think I am coming out. We need a young leader as a president, a digital leader, not old cargoes. Am I sure you hear me? I think I will come out, I will come out for president,” he declared to his congregation.

Odumeje further promised infrastructural transformation, vowing to build a major highway called “Citadel” and bring “modern and digital life” to Nigerians.

His declaration has sparked widespread reactions, with some dismissing it as mere theatrics while others debate the feasibility of his ambition.
