3 Docked Over Assault

For allegedly assaulting a police officer, three persons have been docked before the Ikeja Magistrate’s court sitting at Abule-Egba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria charged with conspiracy and breach of peace.

The accused persons, Emmanuel Ifaeyo, 30, Muda Lawal, 23, and Sulaimon Ibrahim, 37 reportedly broke bottle on Sergeant Felicia Ogbeide attached to Afacoda police post under Iju divisional police headquarter, Lagos.

They allegedly commited the offence on 12 October, 2011 at 32, Gospel Crusader Street, Haruna, Ifako-Ijaiye council area of Lagos state in company of five others who are now at large.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Lugard Ahonle, the offences are punishable under Sections 516, 249D and 356 of the Criminal Code Cap.17, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.A. Komolafe admitted them to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the matter.
