Confederation Cup: Sunshine Battle Club Africaine

Sunshine Football Club of Akure will tomorrow continue their search for continental glory as they take on Club Africaine of Tunisia in the second leg of the semi final of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Gbenga Ogunbote-led team will be looking for an outright victory after they were humiliated a fortnight ago in the first leg of the tie. The Tunisians defeated Sunshine by a lone goal right in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Speaking ahead of the match, Commissioner for Sports in Ondo State, Yekini Olanipekun, who led the team to Tunis, believes the team can still qualify for the final despite the odds against them.

Cletus Itodo, Sunshine’s midfielder also stated that with divine intervention, they hope to win the elusive trophy for the country.
