NURTW Members Commend President

It was commendation galore for the National Presidents of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Yasin for finding lasting solution to the leadership problem facing the state council of the union.

Members at a inaugural meeting in Lagos took turn to praise the Presidents for setting up a seven man committee to steer the affairs of the council.

Members of the committee headed by Comrade Akin James stated that the Committee has decided to work in one voice and to represent the interest of the National headquarters of the council who appointed them.

Comrade Akin James told members to feel free to express their grievances to state council, state that justice would be done to all cases brought before it.

He also told members to embrace peace and harmony, clearing that the committee would only achieve progress only if there is peace.

He also enjoined members to always pay their dues to the state council so as to keep the council running. “We are a trade union organisation, we need money to run state council and your cooperation in that regard will go a long way to sustain the peace.

Comrade Akin James told members that the setting up of the committee by the National Headquarters have put an end to various factions that existed before. “We are now one, no more factions. It is now illegal for anybody to call any group meetings.
