Lagos Junior League Begs Public, Private Sectors For Support

Toafeek Aromire, the Executive Secretary, Lagos Junior League, on Friday appealed to the public and private sectors to assist the league to address its technical and financial needs.

“The biggest challenges of the league basically are financial and technical support. Running a football league is not cheap,” he told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

Aromire said the government, individuals, companies and the media should help in areas of their competence, especially in facilities development, adding that they in turn would benefit from their support.
“We need people to take up sponsorships, branding of the teams, marketing rights, advertising and also partner with us in broadcast of the matches which is open.

“For proximity and logistics convenience, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if 20 mini stadia are built across the state. This will reduce travelling and fatigue before matches.

“Plans are now underway for a Lagos Sports TV (LAGSPORT TV) channel that will broadcast the league matches live to Nigerians and the world via strategic partnership with a digital satellite TV provider.

“There is need for adequate insurance cover for its whole delegation (players and officials), and also medical supplies and equipment for the players.
