Gov. Monday Okpebholo of Edo has continued a winning streak in several petitions instituted against his election victory at Edo Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

The Edo Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday dismissed the petition of the Accord Party, alleging non-compliance with electoral law in the declaration of Gov. Monday Okpebholo, as Governor of Edo.

The judgement came less than two hours after another petition instituted by the Action Alliance (AA)’s candidate, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, challenging the election of Gov. Okpebholo was struck out.

In the judgment, the tribunal held that the case instituted by the AA “lacked merit and was frivolous”.
