Why I regret taking Akin Lewis’ advice – Regina Chukwu

Popular Nigerian actress Regina Chukwu has opened up about a traumatic robbery experience she had while on a movie set, revealing that taking the advice of veteran actor Akin Lewis remains one of her biggest regrets.

The Yoruba actress shared the story in a video recently posted on her YouTube channel, where she recounted how the incident occurred about five years ago at a film location.

According to Chukwu, she had completed her shoot late at night, around 1:00 a.m., and was asked by the producer to spend the night at a nearby hotel alongside Akin Lewis, who had an early trip to Oyo State the next morning.

“I was on a particular set about five years ago. And after we finished shooting at 1:00 a.m., I was lodged alongside actor Akin Lewis in one hotel at Ayilara Street,” she said.

Chukwu explained that upon arriving at the hotel, she noticed it was frequented by prostitutes and voiced her discomfort, refusing to stay. However, Akin Lewis persuaded her to remain at the hotel out of respect for his age and status.

“But listening to his plea was my biggest regret,” she said.

Shortly after she began to settle in for the night, armed robbers stormed her room, broke down the door, and abducted her to an unknown location where they emptied her bank account using her ATM card.
