Eagles’ Job: ‘More Foreigners Show Interest’
Chairman, Technical Committee, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Chris Green says the committee has received a large number of applications from foreigners who are interested in coaching the Super Eagles.
Speaking on Brila FM this morning, Green, who refused to mention the names of the foreigners, said the new coach will be unveiled tomorrow, adding that the coach is expected to be in charge of the Eagles in the international friendly matches against Botswana on 12 November in Kaduna and against Zambia on 15 November in Benin.
“At this moment, quite a number of foreign coaches have submitted their applications and we are going to look at their profiles thoroughly before we announce the best candidate for the Eagles’ job. We know the type of coach we want and I believe that we will give Nigerians the best that can take our football to the next level,†he said.
It was gathered that some of the foreign coaches who showed interest in taking over from sacked coach Samson Siasia are the former Senegal’s coach, Bruno Metsu, current Kaduna United’s boss, Maurice Cooreman a Belgian and former Egypt coach, Hassan Shehata.
