Economic hardship pushed me into music — Segun Johnson

Nigerian musician Segun Johnson, famed for his energetic performances and unique style of singing at events, has opened up about the circumstances that led him into the music industry.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Teju BabyFace, Johnson shared that his journey into music was born out of necessity rather than passion.

When asked if music had always been his dream career, the singer candidly replied in Yoruba:
“Ebi ni, hunger ni. If you are in Nigeria, you don’t have a choice,” meaning, “It was hunger that led me into it.”

Segun Johnson, who has carved a niche for himself with popular hype songs like “Sho Fine Gan” and “Sho Ma Nawo Yen Tan.
