My Best Is Yet To Come

Quadri Aladeokin is a former striker of Ebiede Football Club. Aladeokin spoke with Grassroots Soccer Guide about the club and why he joined Handsworth FC

When did you start your football career?

I started playing grassroots football in 2006.I played for Fini FC before I moved to Sirdona FC. I joined Ebiede FC of Shagamu in 2007 and after some months, I left for Handsworth FC.

Why did you leave Ebiede FC, a club playing a Division One league club like Handsworth FC?

I left Ebiede FC because I was not paid regularly. The club owed me some match allowances and salaries. Life was difficult for me when I was in Ebiede, so I decided to leave the club and joined Handsworth FC.

Since you joined Handsworth FC, how many laurels have you won for the club?

I won the last Ogun State FA Cup when we defeated Indomine FC in the final. We stopped Ebiede FC in the semi final and defeated some grassroots clubs on our way to the final.

Tell us your difficult match in the last Ogun FA Cup?

It was the semi final match against my former club, Ebiede. As a striker, I was marked out because the opponents knew what I can do. We scored two goals during the match which were disallowed. We won the match through penalty shootouts.

How would you rate your performance at the last Federation Cup, formally known as National Challenge Cup?

I gave my best but my best was not good enough to take my team beyond the Round of 32.We lost to Dekina Dragons in Abuja. We felt bad afte we lost out to an unfancied Dekina Dragons.

Judging from the two tourneys you have played so far for Handsworth, do you think you have given your best to the club?

My best is yet to come because I am looking forward to the next Ogun FA Cup where my target is to win the highest goal scorer award. If my team qualify for next year’s Federation Cup, I will ensure I score in every match we play.
