The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) has extended heartfelt congratulations to the state’s workforce for their tireless contributions to Lagos’ growth and development.
At the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, LSACA’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Folakemi Animashaun, lauded the workers’ vital role in driving the state’s progress. She noted that Workers’ Day is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and achievements of the workforce.
Dr. Animashaun emphasized the collective responsibility for health and well-being, urging workers to champion health education, prevention, and access to care. She particularly highlighted the importance of knowing one’s HIV status, a message she stressed is vital for the active working population.
“Our workers are the backbone of our economy,” Dr. Animashaun stated. “Health is integral to individual productivity and overall economic growth. Today’s free HIV testing and counseling exercise ensures that no one is left behind in HIV management and prevention.”
She further encouraged employers to prioritize the health and welfare of their staff, creating a supportive work environment. Dr. Animashaun also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering commitment to worker welfare and sustainable healthcare initiatives.
“LSACA remains dedicated to the fight against HIV, health awareness, and supporting our healthcare professionals and partners who tirelessly contribute to these efforts,” she concluded.
Dr. Animashaun urged all citizens to take advantage of the state’s health initiatives, including free HIV testing and counseling services, which remain accessible beyond the Workers’ Day celebration.
