Three alleged masterminds — Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale — were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, in Abuja, where they operated under the guise of “Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has busted a criminal syndicate running a fake university and impersonating a global e-commerce firm, Q-net, in a multimillion-naira scam targeting desperate youths.
Three alleged masterminds — Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Julius Akano, and Victor Oluwale — were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, in Abuja, where they operated under the guise of “Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited.”
According to EFCC’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, posing as Q-net representatives, the suspects reportedly lured young Nigerians with promises of foreign-affiliated education and lucrative job offers.
In a shocking twist, investigators discovered that the syndicate had been operating a bogus university under makeshift tents and trees, offering counterfeit Bachelor of Science degrees in Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, and more — all supposedly accredited by Quest International University, Malaysia.
The Malaysian institution has since denied any affiliation.
Students were reportedly charged between ₦1.2 million and ₦1.3 million in “registration fees,” with the scammers raking in hundreds of millions from the deception.
The latest arrests come weeks after a major raid on March 24, 2025, at the so-called “Q-net University” in Gwagwalada, Abuja, where 133 suspects were rounded up.
Oyewale stated that the suspects are currently being interrogated as investigations continue.
